I am definitely a bit of a home bird. I come from a beautiful little town set in Derbyshire on the edge of the Peak district. A little place called Ashbourne. It’s lovely – if you haven’t been you should visit. It is pretty, it is safe, there is lots to do right on the doorstep. And people who have visited always agree!

4 years ago I took a career break and went to Canada for a ski season at Big white. And the place really got to me! British Columbia is beautiful. Like home… but BIGGER!

It has been at the back of our minds to go and live there for 4 years now. Should we? Shouldn’t we? What about immigration and visas? What about our families? what about the dogs? How will we make a living? And again.. should we .. shouldn’t we?

This is a real life blog written by a couple in the UK. And honestly… who could say where it will lead? I wouldn’t say the grass looks greener, because I know it will still need cutting. But I do know there is no place like home!
